"U.K. to Spend More on 2012 Olympics as Bank Financing Stalls

Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K. government agreed to kick in an extra 461 million pounds ($632 million) for construction at London’s 2012 Olympic Park after organizers failed to raise money from banks.
The spending will come from the project’s 2.7 billion-pound contingency fund, and the games’ total budget of 9.3 billion pounds remains unchanged, Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell said in an e-mailed statement today. -- http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601102&sid=a2F_pM330CRI&refer=uk
