WHY NOT STEVE COOGAN FOR THE OLYMPIC COMMENTARY?

For me, Steve Coogan playing the SPORTS GENIUS ALAN PARTRIDGE Would make the most concise, literal and entertaining Sports Commentator for the Beijing Olympic Games 2008.

Listening to the cliche' and cheap jibes from the BBC commentary,
These clips of STEVE at his best around 1994 in "THE DAY TODAY" are the best way to make a peaceful, insightful and fun way to watch sports.
If your going to be talking during SPORTS, do it with satire.
IMHO The day today, along with BRASS EYE and SAXONDALE are the most focused satire and critiq' of the corporate mainstream media and their deceptive language structure in the United Kingdom.

I think that the Imperialist Commentary that has been irking me so much is mostly from Sue Barker.

Here's a part of her wiki entry.

"In 2008, Barker already has hosted BBC Sport's coverage of the Australian Open, the French Open, Queens Club Championships, Eastbourne, and Wimbledon. For the remainder of the year, the tennis events she will host include Davis Cup, the Summer Olympic Games, and the Albert Hall Masters. Other sporting events will include the Grand National (1996-2006), The Derby (2001-2007), Racing at Ascot and Longchamp (1995-1999), Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury, rugby league Challenge Cup, World Athletic Championships and European Athletics Championships (since 1999), Commonwealth Games, Winter Olympics, and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

In June 1999, she co-presented coverage of HRH Prince Edward's wedding to Sophie Rhys-Jones at Windsor alongside Michael Buerk. Barker had introduced Rhys-Jones to Queen Elizabeth II's youngest son at a charity function a few years earlier.

Personal life

In her private life, Barker was romantically linked with both the singer Cliff Richard and the golfer Greg Norman. She is now married to policeman Lance Tankard."

In contrast to Sue we have Sharon Davis. Who sounds like a breath of fresh air. Without using the words "spectacular" "Fantastic" and "Gold" out of context. Great, thanks Sharon.
